Can you compare/contrast QCOM's ZIF for CDMA and WCDMA vs Philip's near-zero IF for GSM and WCDMA?

The Philip's part is not for CDMA. That's the main difference. I always thought it would be much more difficult to do direct conversion for CDMA because of the spread spectrum nature of the signal. The Philips part is for GSM which is a very different and in some ways simpler air interface.

Maybe engineer would like to comment further (Ramsey, what have you done with him?)
