Now that's what really separates Cisco from the pack of telcom providers!

Note that although CSCO does have a ton of cash, the quarterly profit is < $800mm. $275mm is a very large proportion of that number. The cash has been accumulated over a large number of quarters, and thus wouldn't be directly comparable.

In addition, the main reason for the large move was that the disclosure of the issue wasn't well communicated, and it sends the message that disclosure in the future might not be as extensive as it was in the past.
