Jim,

When Powell, Rice and Gonzales he's already more "Rainbow" than Clinton if that matters at all.

Are any of those appointees qualified? How does Colin Powell qualify as SOS?

He has lots of bored buddies in the DOD looking for some action. There are very good reasons not to place military types as head of the State Department.

This is his first test, IMHO. When Powell, Rice and Gonzales he's already more "Rainbow" than Clinton if that matters at all.

Jim,

He may be putting together a team that is more diversified but I question whether those people are more qualified or more talented.

And I am not impressed with putting C. Powell in as Sec. of State...a former military guy...a popular decision but certainly not very appropriate. The Sec. of State is to promote peace, not make war.

Having said that, the quality of Bush's presidency won't be known for a least a couple of years.
