who is allen? our senator elect? or do you mean "alan" as in greenspan. latter was opposed to tax cut long ago, but haven't heard if stance has softened. bush will moderate cut IMO just as ag will soften hard landing with rate cuts--bad blood with father unlikely to carry over to son as practical matters will direct both toward common ground: to keep economy healthy into next congressional election.

more interesting was bush reply about cut being non-negotiable. that is admission on his part that in his view, today's meeting with ag is one of negotiation as opposed to briefing or get-to-know one another etc. we'll see tomorrow <g>
