>> What stocks would you buy calls on or would you look at the OEX or like the QQQ to buy calls on? <<

That's my homework for tonight!

I looked at QQQ last night and they looked kind of pricey to me. Also, averages tend to move slower than individual stocks so I don't want to buy QQQ calls. I might be able to get a 40% move out of a stock like SUNW but the QQQ's aint going to move that much. It seems to me that if I am wrong and have QQQ calls they are going to expire worthless anyway, so who cares abut the safety of trading an index. If I am right however, CSCO, SUNW, MSFT, INTC, etc. are all going higher no matter if 10 people downgrade SUNW tomorrow. I do believe that until recently it was smarter to trade QQQ than individual tech names because you didn't have to worry about being blindsided by an earnings warning. Earnings warnings are so common now that I bet if/when SUNW or YHOO warns they won't have as much downside.

Even though there are stocks that have ok charts and are acting quite well (QCOM for example), I'm not sure I want to play those 80 dollar stocks. It seems like you can get the best % moves out of (quality) stocks that are in the 20's-40's. I want to buy something that is relatively CHEAP so if my timing is off I might not get killed so bad.

SUNW is one I'm looking closely at, and INTC looks ok to me as well. I need to go look at AMAT and MU and see what they look like.

I also want to take a look at YHOO, man it sounds like everyone on earth is short that stock!

P.S. I'm not buying that fiber optic junk that some of y'all keep hyping.
