Some years ago, a floor trader told me that one way of determining whether he would be a buyer or seller that day was to look at his stack of tickets before the Open. If the red stack was bigger then he was a Seller. By chance, we were talking Sunday night and I kidded him, saying what if the small stack was large Buy orders and the other stack was 5x larger but all small Sell orders? He said that it did not matter, the Tick would make the Large buyers losers in the end. Bit of trivia.
