Dave, once while up at Banff, my friend and I pulled off the road to check out a bunch of big moose hanging out around the road, we see a coyote running our way and a few moments later we see a big bear right behind the coyote, my friend breaks quickly and runs to the passenger side of the car and gets in. She locks all the doors so by the time I arrive the bear is only 15 to 20 feet behind me running full blast, I'm yelling open the door open the door, she's got her head down freaking out at the thought of being eaten, I run to the back of the car and get on the trunk, the bear runs directly across the road and into the woods still following the coyote, and I am safe, but girlfriendless, for the rest of the summer.
