Cheer up <g>. Gold doesn't suck and isn't useless. It's real money. Even Al Greenspan acknowledged this fact in one of his cryptic speeches in 99: "gold still represents the ultimate form of payment". Remember that... Good enough for the central bank, good enough for me.

As for silver, I think the Chinese have done more to wreck the party than digital cameras have. Maybe the Chinese are finished with their party pooping. Then again maybe not.

Photography uses less silver than it used to. Other uses seem to be filling in for it on the demand side. China's demand for gold is expected to triple in the next couple of years if negotiations with the World Gold Council are successful.
