Joe,

No, this is not a consumer driven slowing. Its the feds raising credit costs that have slowed things down...let them ease now to neutralize the problem. Consumer confidence is still high...as evidenced by the latest numbers from the MI index.

Concerns about the consumer that are being raised right now, appropriately right before the Feds meeting tomorrow, I believe are being done expressly for the purpose getting the Feds attention.

I don't think the required action needs to be on the level of open heart surgery...I think a minor incision will do nicely. <g>
