Michael Isikoff was a Washington Post reporter for a long time. He is credited with having broken much of the Whitewater-Lewinsky story. For this, he gets kudos from the impeachment 'freaks.' Anyway, Isikoff seems to have uncovered an ulterior motivations behind Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Conner's surprising vote on behalf of Bush. Apparently, O'Conner wished to retire from the High Court but wouldn't have done so under a Gore Administration. A former Arizona Republican senate president, she can now, with Bush in control of her replacement, retire to her home state. msnbc.com
