It seems that there are a lot of initiatives to promote secure web payments via a smart card reader integrated in a PC In France the major retail banks and credit card associations have decided to push cyber-commm ( G+ has a stake in it). The banks involved represent the large majority of the country bank accounts. cyber-comm.com PC boxmakers like compaq have agreed to offer keyboards with integrated card readers. Of course all this is very new but with the pressure of the banks it could go quick. Banks want to get rid of people's fear to type their card number on a web screen
