"Hail to the thief" That isn't coming from Gore, that's coming from me. And it's an honest assessment of what happens when the guy who loses by 500,000 votes nationally, and who would have lost had recounts proceeded in Florida, succeeds in suppressing those recounts and running out the clock through scorched earth litigation. Bush will sit in the White House, to be sure. But 95% of those who voted against him are angry, and for good reason. He didn't win it fair and square. In fact, he didn't win it at all. He was appointed by a 5-4 majority of the Supreme Court, who installed him by giving an artificial deadline greater priority that the truth and trampling over a State Supreme Court's interpretations of its own laws in the absence of a bona fide federal issue. And you would feel exactly the same way if the tables were reversed here. Well, I have news for you -- what goes around, comes around. This time it will be instant karma.
