I honestly don't know enough about the inner workings of the student-loan system to even give you an informed opinion on that. Besides, after today, SLM's chart doesn't look so hot any more. <g> I think we jinxed it.

Personally I think having competing choices helps to lower interest rates and thats good for the students. But if the gov can provide a low enough rate then thats even better, but personally I think the gov is inefficient at doing this kind of stuff.
