It's just an exercise in the powers of deduction - my assumption is that Bush has convinced Greenspan that a tax cut is, at least, possible. Greenspan did not look happy when he left the meeting, and Bush did.

Repealing the marriage penalty is a no-brainer.

Repealing the estate tax isn't going to cause a lot of opposition, either, since everyone is going around saying "we have a surplus." And a teeny-tiny little 1% or 2% marginal rate cut should be an easy sell to the public, don't you think?

Wrong Gore boy, marriage penalty tax cuts and estate tax cuts were passed on a bipartisan basis once. Bubba was there to veto them. Not this time, as we like to say, it is different.
