never mind his chances...i'm inclined to agree with you there, especially as the Republicans themselves have lately turned into big spenders. but he may have made promises along those lines to Greenbump.

It seems to me that I distictly remember Reagan promising to eliminate the deficit in his platform.
In actuallity it exploded under his leadership. Several politicians after that followed in his footsteps , promising to eliminate the deficit, while spending like fools once elected. It was a good line that worked for years. Ho ho ho
