Hi Bilow,

Do you have a theory on why Intel is not phasing out its 820 chipset before the 815? Or on why the 815 is now more expensive than the 820?

carl:
Samsung quotes for 128 MB DRAM from mymemorystore.com: $61 for PC133; $179 for RDRAM. That is 3x in my books even with SDRAM selling below cost of manufacture.
Registered DDR which is the type Intel believes that will actually work in PC servers in 2002 has a price of $385. Don't tempt me to start a DDR/RDRAM price ratio commentary.
I hope you are long the market on something because I don't think Greenspan will disappoint Bush on his honeymoon today.

john

Hi all; Weekly update of PC800/PC133 prices. This week, DDR dropped significantly in price. I'll add DDR pricing around the end of January or so, when we should have a more interesting price sequence.

Both RDRAM PC800 and SDRAM PC133 came down in price from the previous week, but SDRAM came down slightly more, percentage wise. RDRAM is showing better than 5x SDRAM pricing for the second week in a row, and the ratio increased for the 16th week in a row.
