To identify my union would identify my employer. My employer might care because I occasionally post at work, as I am now doing during a lull in the action, although there is nothing in writing in the contract prohibiting such. If I said I lived in Western Kentucky and was a member of the UAW, then one could conclude that I worked at the Corvette plant in Bowling Green. You get the idea. I have said less-than-complimentary things about corporate suits on occasion, especially in regard to the big pension fight of a few years ago, and have also said less-than-complimentary things about several posters on the other side of the aisle. Better safe than sorry, even though I have never identified my employer. I doubt if any of the "regulars" with whom I spar would turn me in, but others would. Better safe than sorry in this modern-day environment of corporate paranoia and perpetual inquisitions of sitting Presidents of the United States.
