That Was The Beauty of The WSJ Article Last week we rallied (10% $COMPX)on the assumption we would go to even this week. How to reassure without re-inflating? Leak the rate cut, announce recession balance of risk, and the market falls based on unrealistic expectations. The objective is to bring the market down without bringing the economy down - no small trick. But I think think someone should get a little credit for this strategy. Although the idea of a senior official at the Fed actually leaking to a reporter is very troublesome.
