I sort of agree, but you don't want to kill the patient with the medicine. Fed funds rates are very high in relation to inflation, and real interest rates. And growth in the economy appears to have hit a brick wall.

I guess it's a credibility issue as well, just four weeks ago they said the risk was towards inflation. IMHO, that's when they were behind the curve, if they had gone to a neutral bias then, they could have cut today.

The market doesn't seem impressed by their bias.

GV, the 70s are ancient history. Why not build walls around cities too. The guy is trying to kill something that's already buried six feet deep (if it ever lived). Watch for the CPI and PPI numbers next month.
