I believe around this level is a much better situation than say 100%+. That said, I don't understand why those analysts worry so much about Intel(or whoever) is not completely sold out and is operating at 120%. No one wants that situation, Intel included IMO.

Excuse the error.

I was actually looking at a chart of Capacity Utilization ex Technology. It broke below 80 last month, down from a peak over 83 about two years ago and 84 back in 1995. It is back to its 1992 level.

Capacity utilization in manufacturing is still far below its inflationary 1994 peak of 84 and even farther below its inflationary levels of the previous 4 business cycles. At its present level, it is far below what would be considered inflationary.
