I am a Realtor, and I am seeing people put their homes on the market because their retirement savings have been levelled and they are scared. The "trickle down" effect is just beginning; We are hearing about abysmal retail sales, which will not easily be rejump started..... layoffs in basic industries. People are going to hold on tightly to their money. Here comes the BIG R. The bubble would have deflated itself at some point anyway without Greenspan's tinkering.
