Hi ed,

I'm afraid the Fed just gave an all clear to the shorts... Unfortunate, but essentially they confirmed the worst fears of the market and then decided to do nothing about it...

Much like firemen coming to a theater where someone yelled fire, confirming that there was a fire and then standing around twiddling their thumbs....

Someone, I think it was Battapaglia today was saying that the Fed cutting rates today might panic the market into thinking that things were worse than percieved... well this is worse I think... they confirmed that the economy is on the verge of tanking and then did nothing... no wonder the market reacted so terribly...

Agree with you about the stocks that showed some strength... was watching INTC, CREE, QCOM, RMBS, TQNT etc... some held up fairly well till the last few minutes...

Guess this is the begining of the panic?

Regards...

Apropos of learning.
Today I parked my new Honda Odyssey Van correctly first time for the very first time.
I had been driving a wonderful but small Toyota Tercel Station Wagon for 16 years. What a vehicle that was! A true friend!!!!
The van was my pick but it has taken me four months to get used to the size and dimensions of it!!!!
But I've been driving since I was 16.
So I've decided that I can learn to invest wisely too. I haven't been doing that since I was 16, only a few years. And I did make multi millions, though I didn't keep it.
I am not giving up. I will succeed at this too, it will just take a little longer than I thought.
