i agree...then again, Bush may calculate a bit differently. if it rolls over RIGHT HERE and NOW he can blame it on the outgoing lame ducks, and may bank on getting it over with early so he can take credit for the "inevitable" recovery.

however, if this is a secular bear period, there won't be anything to take credit for. note, i say "IF" because i first want to see the 'defensive' sectors killed as well before i really trust my judgment that that is indeed what this is.i strongly suspect it is, but i'm not yet certain...the Dow could still embark on a final blow-off from the expected late Jan. cycle low.
