Calls are certainly risky in a bear market, but I believe (perhaps wrongly) that SUNW has been oversold, and will report strong earnings, hopefully preceded and followed by a round of short covering. There has to be a large short position in SUNW right now, for the price to have been driven down so far on no news.

January 18 and 19 will tell all.

Meanwhile, I sit watching my portfolio go rapidly back to where it was two years ago.

Good job I don't have any margin debt, otherwise I'd be saying bye bye to my stocks.

P.

The only consistency I see lately is whatever you buy today you can get cheaper tomorrow.

JMHO.

Thanks.

So, if an options novice straight ahead believes SUNW will
be x2 on or before JULY expiry, his best bet might be what,
in your opinion?

I'm looking at going on margin for a straight x2 turn
(pocket the money) within 6 mos. In this case, were that
not to happen, I can think of worse things than having to
hold more SUNW, especially at this entry.

What might an options fellow suggest as a simple options
alternative to the long SUNW margin 'play' here?
