Actually I don't disagree with much of what you had to say.
I also think that the prices of some things are always inflated, but in general, unless there is huge increase in money, other things will be lower as a result.

If oil goes to $35, unless there is an increase in money, the prices of other things will fall because money used for oil won't be available for those other things.

I'm not a gold bug either. I agree that there were also problems with the gold standard, but I think it got a worse rap that it deserved because fractional reserve banking is a problem.

I'm not saying I have a perfect monetary system in mind. I'm just saying this one is a stinker. :-)
