Why did SGI fail in enforcing its patents? What was the reason for failure to enforce a granted patent?

Scumbria,

Granted the management at SGI are nice people,

Nice guys finish near the end. Why couldn't SGI defend their patent? Waited too long? Declared invalid due to prior art? Just didn't feel like putting the effort into it?

As pomp pointed out, you do have to defend your patents. But once you have them, someone has to prove that they're invalid, you don't have to prove they're valid.

I like saying that (101) now that I don't have to drive on it anymore!

Are you bailing on the great state of CA or something?

Dave
