Blake,

The Micron DDR systems are sold out at Best Buy.

Lots of P4 systems sitting idle on the shelves however.

Hi blake paterson; Re Intel's DDR chipset not being available until Q1 of 2002, and DDR being dead.

Your basic error is in the assumption that DDR can only be supported by an Intel chipset. VIA and Ali will have DDR chipsets for the P4 long before Q1 of 2002. Heck, Intel will supposedly have SDRAM chipsets for P4 in 3Q01.
