I thought the same thing. How could people be so naive as to think the Fed will do what THEY want. I maintain that the fed's BIG mistake was lowering like crazy to save the speculators in '98. Now the speculators think the Fed POOT is their RIGHT.

The fed put will be invoked- but he just may take his sweet time about it. The trash is being dumped, the fat is being trimmed and the rest of the market can wait while this process completes. <g>

Indeed...after lurking on clown threads tonight, the biggest irony is that, up until ~3 months or so, Lord Greenspan was held in the highest regard by clowns. A clown deity who's popularity was unrivaled. Tonight, he is regarded as the Grinch who f*cked their Xmas up.

Of course, much of the blame goes to Bubblevision, for instilling the notion into clowns that Easy Al's job is to breathe life into portfolios laden with CSCO, DELL, JNPR, ICGE, et.al. CNBS did a helluva job over the last month convincing J6P that a simple waving of Easy Al's magic wand could get them out of margin hell. As such, it was quite fitting that they had Lines on this afternoon throwing a temper tantrum over the Fed's decisions--a tantrum that surely played out in living rooms across America by everyone who's on a first-name basis with their margin clerk.
