Mani,

re:This recent correction started with Internuts, then box makers, then semi's got hit, spilled over to ecommerce, then enterprise computing, last to fall were telecoms, wireless and Optics are now getting pounded. I may have the order wrong but the point is that common sense seem to be finally prevailing, one sector at a time. I really feel for people that heavily margined and now have lost everything."

So do I.

In fact thats one reason i play devils advocate on the thread.

Overall i am VERY bullish on the technology.

However it would not surprise me to see AMD sub $10 in Q1 2001.

Folks got very arrogant.

And especially those who had done well over several years like on the Intel thread.

regards,

Kash

RE:"How long has it been that common sense been telling us that companies like ETYS, AMZN and HTLH were junk only to watch them go higher. That companies like MSFT, EMC and SUNW (as great has they are) have been very much over valued. You just described a bear market but I take it you are too young to have remembered one. The good news is that you're young enough to recover.

I avoided the junk tech but the good stuff gets dragged right down the toilet too in a bear. Apparently a lot of people had never seen a bear. They get them all...even EMC and Corning...though not as bad. We will come out of it after the first of the year but some stocks will never recover and go belly up.

Mani, re:overvalued companies. ("companies like MSFT, EMC and SUNW (as great has they are) have been very much over valued.")

And I have the incredible bad luck to pick up AMCC puts a few days before they add it to the S&P 500.
