Very true. The Congress cut the cap gains on sale of a primary residence to 9% and gave up that revenue stream a couple years ago.
Some mutual funds with throw off distributions to shareholders despite losses. The holders will have to sell the funds to counter. That should kill any rally in the stock market until next year.
Tax loss selling of individual stocks will be uses to lower taxes paid on income.
I suspect the govie coffers will be relatively empty come April. So there goes the tax cut.
