Tony, RE: I think he's erring on the side of killing any possible inflation dead, instead of erring on the side of not messing up the greatest technology machine ever.

If all it takes is a one month delay in lowering rates ¼ point to mess up this machine, I think that you err in calling it the greatest ever.

Please note that I am not disputing your thought that this indeed a great technology machine we live in. I am disputing your thought that Greenspan is messing it up, particularly with a one month delay in a rate cut.

Greenspan made a huge mistake in putting too much excess liquidity in the markets at Y2K, helping create the absurd bubble of 1Q 2000. If you want to assign blame, I think that is a far more appropriate place.
