prog - there are june options on SUNW, they are just very thinly traded. For example, the June 35 calls I used in my example are the CJTFG, which have been doing about 10 contracts a day on good days and have an open interest of 138 contracts. The July 35s (SUXGG), by comparison, are doing over 100 contracts a day and have 1129 open. I should have mentioned that in the real world, it is easy to move the option prices with a single order - it always amazes me when I'm working into a position and I can see the price move in response to little old me... so your suggestion of July calls is more practical.

Thanks Proggy (and rudedog). I finally understand about
options.

I think in my case; in this case, I'm going to opt for a
bit of margin debt and buy the quantity of shares straight
away (the way Charles has done in the past). I've seen how
options magically have a way of finding that 'max pain'
number. I'd prefer the downside risk of having to buy SUNW
at ~$30 @ n% interest under most any circumstance than
losing actual cash per hundred on a possible worthless
call. After all, at ~$30, I'd rather have the SUNW equity
over cash, so -- bear market be damned, it's off to
the debt races.
