MSFT: This article by Herb Greenberg may have greased the skids a bit: thestreet.com
A prior long term CFO at MSFT was once asked what would be a sell signal for him - he said it would be when MSFT switched from ultra-conservative to more aggressive accounting methods to hit the numbers. Accounting issues that would have been ignored in bull phase of market are now coming into sharper focus.
That said, I agree with what Shane has said and think MSFT will be a buy - but later at lower levels.

Perhaps we will soon be able to buy great companies at great prices (great prices for buying, that is). I've only really read about being able to pay for tangible book (perhaps even at a discount???), and get the intangibles, future growth, or "hidden story" for free.

Return of the era of the rational or insightful analyst? ;-)
