Alex- I figure Cisco just DOMINATES the enterprise space so I pay little attention to it. I did figure CSCO was doing, loosely speaking, 'end-end packet voice' in the enterprise. But as you noted I was looking for any info about the MGC in the service provider space. 10-15 years would be my projection to.

NT(I think) is supposedly building an end-end packet voice solution in Spain. I don't know much about it and I have my doubts they are sticking with the plan. BTW ANTC is doing an end-end test of packet voice in Philadelphia too. But then again, who isn't doing end-end VoIP tests somewhere.

Contrast this to packet voice in the access networks. That I believe will happen sooner rather than later--VoHFC and VoDSL. -MikeM(From Florida)
