<Analyst Michael Ching at Merrill Lynch lowered his intermediate-term rating on Cisco Systems >

I guess the signs weren't there when CSCO was in the 50's, 60's, or 70's.

This downgrade is really a joke. CSCO multiple historically 30X earnings??? He leaves eps and revenue estimates unchanged for 2001. So we see growth at 40-50%, and a 30 multiple as normal?? If the worries he mentions come to pass earnings and revenues wouldnt be this robust would they.
A newsletter i subscribe too warned of these analyst shenanigans. The Merrill brokers are calling their clients this morning switching them out of csco and other high multiple stocks who will get the ax next. I know! As a young man I used to be a broker so I know what is going on. Nothing has changed. And by the way who do you think will be rushing to buy csco after this route, oh yes it will be Merrill for their institutional folks. And the analyst can always say that he said earnings would hold up next time csco beats the street by a penny.
Bulls and bears should agree on this one. When the fix is in it can be on the bid or the ask. Manipulation is manipulation.
