>Merrill downgrades CSCO

The new SEC Full Disclosure rules have eliminated any benefit for analysts to be cozy with the companies they cover.. Even if they do kiss their asses, it doesn't get them inside info anymore. And since nobody is raising money in the markets in any way shape or form, or floating debt, or doing secondaries, there are no banking fees to whore after.

Which leads one to ask- why are the brokerage stocks not PLUMMETING THROUGH THE FLOOR? They have become irrelevant.
