My wife raised a foal 2 years ago. Luckily the mare was even tempered and let my wife fuss with the foal. Just from daily handling from birth, when the foal was 6 months old he would sitck his head forward to be haltered, stand still to be brushed and clipped, raise his feet for picking and would carry a child's saddle. He's 2 3/4 now and has never bucked or kicked, tame as a lap dog.
