All suggestions sound wonderful. Now, my wife and I generally get a bunch of stuff for New Year's Eve: pate campagne (plain country pate), mousse troufee (whipped and formed pate with truffles), pate forsetier (coarse pate with wild mushrooms), perhaps a duck terrine; gouda, brie, St. Andre (triple creme), one or two other cheeses; a boatload of Vie de France bread, some crackers, and perhaps some raw oysters or lumpfish caviar. Then we can eat what we want for New Year's Eve, and have incredible snacks for the rest of the week.........
