OT....call me crazy, but I expect to start hearing about the likelihood of an "emergency" FED meeting after the new year....I haven't a clue if my thoughts are justified by a precedent, but AG was performing the MOAF (mother of all favors) to his "associates" when he released his report....
Morgan Freeman said it best (in Seven)....
"John Doe has the upper hand....he is in control here."

It would not surprise me to see an 800 point one day drop on the Dow

I agree that we could see an 8000 DOW before the real bottom emerges, but I'm thinking there would have to be some sort of geopolitical event to cause an 800 point one day drop. I'm thinking a full scale war in the middle east or widespread worldwide bank failure might be the ticket.

There would have to be some catalyst, external of the day to day downgrades and bad news in the markets, for such a dramatic one day drop.

Watch the world events in macro-zoom mode for early warnings.
