I spent a couple weeks this summer in the "Whiteshell forest preserve" on the Ontario/Manitoba boarder at the cottage my grandparents bought in the 30's and my mother grew up in. We rented it from the guy who bought it from my grandparents 25 yrs ago. I was amazed at how little had changed in the area... no new big beautiful 'megahomes' around despite the lakefront property on a beautiful deep, clear lake... same cottages everywhere.
