Wilder,

I've recently seen wins by BDAL, APBiotech (of NYE), and another one by a Thermo unit. So I'd say the space is growing, that there's room for a number of players, and that there's no gorilla. That post you put up a ways back from the WAT 10-Q gave no company more than 25% of the market, if memory serves. And that info is dating fast. Further, GNSL has a relationship with ABI, so it's no surprise to see some of ABI's spectrometers in GNSL's facility.

Everyone's business model depends on speed and accuracy, eh? Certainly spectrometers are being validated. But they come in many flavors and there've been lots of product introductions lately. I'm still trying to learn which flavor is good for what, so I can't comment on validation of any one of them in any meaningful way. Would dearly like to see commentary from an actual mass spectrometer user/purchaser on this thread, regarding what influences the purchasing decision.

td, you following? I remember you made favorable comments about WAT spectrometers in an early post here. Can you expand on that. What kind and why WAT's?

Cheers, Tuck
