"The constitution does not allow for a 4th branch of Government! "

Relax. The Federal Reserve is not a branch of government; it's a private corporation acting out of pure profit^H^H^H^H^H^H altruistic motivations. The name "federal" is just a marketing ploy.

I am not a Fed supporter, but I think the continuing market decline has more to do with these Economic reasons (in chart form):
contraryinvestor.com

The investment bankers are the ones who have been inflating the money supply for USD, the Fed has very little control anymore....here is a good article, which shows that the effect of all this "too easy money" (credit expansion fostered by investment banking) has actually driven out the more productive sectors of our economy, and left us in this borrow and consume cycle (as evidenced by the trade imbalance). It also reflects your sentiments toward the FED ("central banks.....if they were really serious about preserving the value of money, they would pore through the available statistical evidence, draw an objective conclusion and abolish themselves forthwith!").

.....In the 'good old days', a business person would go to a local banker for a loan, and the banker would check to be sure the business was generating enough cash flow to insure that the loan payments could & would be made. But in this 'new economy', the investment bankers have been loaning to those who are going through their cash the fastest, knowing that they would have to come back to the trough and feed again and again. Wasn't their money they were loaning out, after all....they were just chasing a commission.

I enjoy lurking here, reading the give and take... Jerry
