ot: Why don't you keep the equivalent of the minimum wage and donate the rest of your salary and capital gains to those on the bottom if you are so concerned? That's clintonomics, i.e. socialism. It doesn't work. Those in need who can't do anything because of some disabling handicap should be helped by family/church/society, not the gov't. Those able bodied mooching off the gov't should be cut off tomorrow.knc

Your argument is very circular in nature. The REASON that prices went up so much in Silicon Valley was because people were getting paid so ridiculously high.

I suppose, but it's not just the techies that are getting paid so much here. It's the marketing, and administration people, too. Shoot, I know a guy who is a headhunter (effectively an HR person) who cleared about $200K this year.

I agree with you on your other points. You better be careful, though, S.O., you are starting to make me think that you're not such a jerk after all...!
