The price of CSCO:As an MBA you ought to know that the
price of anything depends simply on supply and demand.

There is nobody with CSCO's technological and financial size and clout.
Even a start up like JNPR will not be able to eat CSCO's meal.
It may nibble but eventually clout, size , excellence in
execution wins out.
At least over the next 5 years.

I have been critical of CSCO in the past in regards to the
ATM market and Newbridge Alcatel.

However I can't deny that CSCO is a behemoth.
It is not going to disappear tomorrow.

At the right time, this Gorilla will pounce.

We live in Internet Time and Space.

The way up will be as fast and furious as the waay down,

TA

Tunica, RE: CSCO=good buy @38 because good stocks will always be overpriced.

Why $38, and not $80?

A good company does not always translate into a good stock.

How about the fact that CSCO's earnings growth is over 50% yet forward PE for 01 is under 50 and forward PE for 02 (which I believe is sandbagged) is just over 30. How about CSCO's markets being geographically dispersed as well as balanced by industry? Of course you could go buy JNPR - like Monty did at $127... the trailing PE there is something like 500, forward 01 PE is 220.. and forward 02 PE is 130ish. And JNPR is a one product company targeting a single geographic market and a single industry. Yet, the market is made up with fools... which we all have to follow... so I bought some JNPR as a trade at $102 and at $105... not becuase I think they are better positioned or will grow into thier price but because morons will take it back up. This is not investing.

The fact is this selling is overdone... not that this changes the reality of it all but it is as overdone as the buying was. I am not optimistic as some however regarding a bounce at this point but the facts are CSCO is being taken out and shot while they have continued to outpace and outperform the market they are in.
