JR, >" Big Blue shares were also singing the blues, off $5.06, or 5.6 percent, to
$85.06 in recent trading after analyst Thomas Kraemer slashed his
intermediate-term recommendation on IBM (IBM: news, msgs) to
"neutral" from "buy."

Just a curiosity, the boys on ESPN, Kernen and Faber were saying today that this Kraemer is the ex football quarterback, played for the Vikings and others. They said it was Tommy Kramer. Thing is, I'm pretty sure he didn't used to have that extra e in his name. Maybe he went back to a previous spelling of the family name. That's about it for a sucky day.

It's trading today as if a warning is in the cards.

JR, just returned from my youngest daughter's graduation from college but did catch Kraemer's comments on CNBC. I do not believe that he has the ability or contacts to make such macro calls but even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while. He has been so off in the past I wonder who listens but being at Merrill gives him an audience such that downward bias to year end is inevitable.
