Ted, number 1 is a common reason for a tax cut because conservatives actually do get some power from time to time. Nos 1 and 3 are specious and mainly are subjective goals on the part of certain parties, leaving only number 2 as the real reason to do a tax cut. Number 1 is the best reason for a tax cut. It is obviously an ideological reason but that doesn't make it specious. (But of course you think that conservative or libertarian ideology is automatically specious.) Tim
