I've heard of small lawn tractors with a single plow blade and a length of pipe rigged so that the wire simple falls to the bottom of the trench....so the bury can be easy.

My brother in law has a mid sized spaniel of some sort and it is terrified of the edge of the yard.....he used the wire system.

If you have bright dogs, they will catch on very fast and as Croc suggests you may just have to borrow or "rent" one from somebody who has used it. I'd check eBay to see if there are any for auction.

I have German Shepherds and they freeze when I whistle even if they are racing after a turkey or deer.....but they will wonder if I'm not paying attention for a long enough time....this is where I think the wireless system can be useful.
