I'm not sure about that.

My thinking is that the Fed is looked upon by the wealthiest nation on earth, along with the wealth of many other nations.

I would have to think that they would have some of the best minds working to ensure we stay on top.
They are aware of all aspects of our economy and the level of importance of each.
Right now, it may not be in our best interest to keep a few handfulls of tech stocks (at extreme levels of value) bouyed while inflation begins to show.
Corrective measures had been taken to prevent Y2K problems, now we feel the ending effects.
As each 1/4 point gets shaved in the following months, energy prices will cycle back, and our economy may regain it's strength once again.
This time we can expect a tighter leash as to prevent it from running away again.

You must remember we are still in the midst of a technological revolution.
It has not even begun to stop.
The future will continue to brighten.
Discoveries are just beginning to be made.
We are not even nearly finished.
