Slacker,

<<Of course, at the current rate, the NAZ will be at zero by then ;-).... >>

I pulled up a quote on Q one morning last week and it showed a low of zero. I say we've been on quite a roll since then.<gg>

Slacker,

Another personal speculation of mine regarding the lack of rate cut.

I suppose it's no secret that Bush Sr. and Grinchspan weren't the best of buddies. To this day Bush Sr. blamed AG for contributing to his 1992 defeat by refusing to lower the rate at a crucial time, thus causing the 1991-1992 recession.

Bush Jr, in my opinion, has no more clout than daddy in pursuing AG to get up to speed. Additionally, I thought all the noise Bush Jr. and his handlers made in the last few days (about tax cuts and weak economy etc) was extremely UNWISE, in that it may have pushed AG further to a corner.

AG seems to have an ego to match the size of his brains. It would seem to me that the rate cut, when it does come, should look like Fed's decision, not anyone else's.
