I think Bush had it right when he said that they have to play the hand they are dealt. IMO, the President has little to do with economic performance absent major tax reform like Reagan, declaring a war, etc. Clinton happened to get lucky, the Repub. Congress kept his liberal spending tendencies in check and Clinton does deserve credit for keeping Greenspan in place. Bush may not be as lucky in terms of timing. Only time will tell.

Ish,

I realize this will sound like sedition, but it appears to me that the major part of the downturn in the market, happened "on cue", when it became clear that Bush was going to be declared the winner.
